The Marine Corps Systems Command is developing a cutting-edge multichannel handheld radio system that protects against peer adversary threats and allows Marines to swiftly add new waveforms and expanded capabilities to meet changing requirements. This project will aid in the implementation of the Department of Defense’s 2022 National Defense Strategy, which asks for the preservation of command, control, and communications in a fast-paced conflict. According to Sessions, the new multichannel portable radios will go into service in the first quarter of fiscal year 2024.
