An official at Fort Bragg acknowledged that investigators interviewed fifteen troops from the US Army Special Operations Command regarding drug charges.
Late last week, law enforcement officials, including the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division, questioned the soldiers at Fort Bragg. Many of those questioned, according to media sources and USASOC officials, were active-duty Green Berets, but it was unclear how many. The FBI was involved in the inquiry that led to the arrests, according to Jack Murphy, an independent military writer and former Green Beret, and one soldier was investigated for human trafficking-related offences involving juvenile females. A string of violent killings has occurred in the Special Forces community surrounding Fort Bragg in recent years.
