Death of Special Forces soldier found on Fort Bragg ruled as homicide | Fayetteville Observer

On December 2nd, the bodies of Master Sergeant William J. LaVigne II and Timothy J. Dumas were found near Fort Bragg‘s training area. The men were between the ages of 37 and 44. Both men died of multiple gunshot wound to the chest and head. The killer is still unknown. Both Dumas and Lavigne had multiple but separate charges they were supposed to appear to court for in the upcoming year such as a hit and run charge, breaking and entering, impersonating a law officer, and more. LaVigne was buried at Sandhills State Veterans Cemetery and the investigation is still ongoing.
