An insurgent was identified by a US Marine Corps sniper unit sitting inside a parked car. He had a long gun in his possession. Another insurgent was standing nearby.
The assailant in the automobile was the target of the scout sniper’s shot. He slowly and steadily squeezed the trigger until he was startled by the M40 rifle’s recoil. The two kills were reported over the radio by Sniper Team Four of the 3rd Battalion, 5th Marines. A group of grunts was sent to evaluate the damage. M40 turned out to be incredibly accurate. It became the torment of every rebel who dared to stand up within shooting distance of the Marines in the hands of Sniper Team Four. Similar to how it has plagued America’s adversaries in earlier battles.
