The Danish Special Forces, which are comprised of trained soldiers that handle unconventional warfare and non-traditional reconnaissance missions, include the Danish Frogmen and the Jaeger Corps.
Particularly for the Danish Frogmen Corps and Jaeger Corps, the recruitment and training procedures for Danish Special Forces are extremely stringent. Special Operations are described as “military activities undertaken by specially designated, organized, trained, and equipped personnel through the deployment of tactics, techniques, and procedures that are non-standard for conventional forces” in the Danish Ministry of Defense’s military manual. The members of the Danish Special Forces are highly skilled soldiers with specialized training in unconventional warfare and non-conventional reconnaissance missions. Although joining these Special Forces is exceedingly difficult, such strict selection procedures are necessary to guarantee that difficult operations are effectively carried out.
