Three Republican Congressmen have written a letter to the Secretary of the Navy and Commandant of the Marine Corps addressing the comments a Marine lawyer made to a defense attorney in the case of the death of Green Beret in Iraq. Rick Anthony Rodriguez was working as a Lockheed Martin contractor when he died after a fight outside of a bar in Iraq. The MARSOC 3 are the two Marine Gunnery Sergeants and one Navy Chief Petty Officer who face charges stemming from the altercation. The letter addresses the threatening comments Marine lawyer Christopher Shaw made which the defense believes constitute Unlawful Command Influence. Shaw allegedly told one of the three’s attorney that the Marine legal community is small and that the lawyer on any promotion board will know he worked this case. It is unclear what stance the Congressmen took in the letter.
