The CIA’s satellite allegedly provides intelligence to Ukraine’s special forces for drone attacks on Russian servicemen during the military campaign in Ukraine.
A report in The Times alleges that a satellite belonging to the CIA provides Ukraine’s special forces with information on potential targets in Russia’s military operation in Ukraine. The report states that Ukraine’s “Thor” special operations forces use an application linked to the satellite to identify targets. The intelligence and coordinates provided by the satellite are then used to inform drone attacks on Russian servicemen. Another revelation from a member of the Ukrainian special forces is that the drones are deployed to maim Russia’s forces rather than kill them. The Thor group operates independently from the Ukrainian army, selecting its own missions and the circumstances of their implementation.
