The US lawmakers drafted a resolution criticizing South Africa’s government for its close relations with Beijing and its use of Chinese technology, including the security risks posed by the Chinese telecommunications giant, Huawei, but analysts say the concern falls on each government to responsibly use technologies, and China is not the only player in the tech industry.

The US House of Representatives is considering a resolution criticizing South Africa for its close ties to Beijing, especially its use of Chinese technology, and calling President Joe Biden to review Washington’s relations with Pretoria.
