Must Read

The US lawmakers drafted a resolution criticizing South Africa’s government for its close relations with Beijing and its use of Chinese technology, including the security risks posed by the Chinese telecommunications giant, Huawei, but analysts say the concern falls on each government to responsibly use technologies, and China is not the only player in the tech industry.

The US House of Representatives is considering a resolution criticizing South Africa for its close ties to Beijing, especially its use of Chinese technology, and calling President Joe Biden to review Washington’s relations with Pretoria. The hazards of Chinese telecommunications have raised concerns in the US, but some observers contend that any government must responsibly employ technology and that China is not the only participant in the sector.
