In Barrie’s vicinity, Special Operations Forces Command conducts training exercises.
From June 2 to 8, the Canadian Armed Forces will undertake training operations in “the region of Barrie.” Residents may see CC-130 Hercules aircraft and military vehicles and uniformed military personnel with weapons and the sounds associated with aircraft, explosives, and personal weapons. The Special Operations Forces Command is particularly appreciative of the cooperation and understanding of the communities it conducts such training.
