Ukraine continues to be armed by NATO nations in preparation for the continuous attack of Russia.
As part of the NATO network, Canadian special troops are in Ukraine to supply weaponry, training, and intelligence. A few hundred NATO commandos are operating inside Ukraine, including those from the United Kingdom, France, Canada, and Lithuania. Additionally, U.S. Special Forces have formed a coalition planning cell in Germany to coordinate military aid.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, NATO members have started providing substantial quantities of weapons to Ukraine. Some NATO leaders saw the conflict as a chance to compel a regime transition in Russia or significantly erode its military might. The Pentagon estimates it will ultimately contribute $20 billion in military assistance to Ukraine.
