However, a closer look at Activision Blizzard’s key personnel and their relationships to the state, as well as information gleaned from documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, show that Call of Duty is not a neutral first-person shooter but rather a carefully crafted piece of military propaganda, created to further the objectives of the U.S. national security state. American spies have long been known to have targeted and infiltrated Activision Blizzard video games. According to documents made public by Edward Snowden, the Department of Defense, NSA, CIA, and FBI infiltrated massive online worlds like World of Warcraft.
