The ability of ISIS to plan and carry out actions was hampered by the seizure of an agent and two colleagues by US forces in an operation in eastern Syria.

Bulgarian elite troops are currently in the UK for a joint training exercise with the Royal Marines 45 Commando. The focus of the exercise is to enhance their skills in irregular and clandestine warfare, as well as close-quarter combat. The troops have previously trained together in Bulgaria, but this exercise is an opportunity for both units to deepen their collaboration and learn from each other. The Bulgarian soldiers aim to learn from the Royal Marines’ expertise in surveillance and reconnaissance missions, while the Marines seek to learn from the Bulgarian soldiers’ experience in built-up areas. Effective communication is vital to the training exercise, with the soldiers not wearing helmets to improve understanding and overcome language barriers.
