A task force of around 600 British SAS and Paratroopers have been given notice that they made need to deploy to the Ukraine soon as video footage showed Russian tanks, armored vehicles and troops gathering near the border. The task force consists of SAS, Special Reconnaissance Regiment, around 400 Paratroopers from the 16 Air Assault Brigade, medics, engineers, and signalers. They are a high readiness unit and have prepared to drop into Ukraine if necessary.
There has been increased tension in eastern Europe after the EU accused Belarus of engineering a humanitarian crisis on their Polish border. Putin complains that unscheduled NATO drills in the Black Sea pose a serious threat to Russia.
