Biden: Drone strike on al-Qaida leader delivered ‘justice’ | MSN

Osama Bin Laden’s successor in Afghanistan was killed by a US airstrike.

Biden said that American intelligence agents followed al-Zawahri to a residence in central Kabul. The president authorized the operation one week ago and executed it on Sunday. On Monday, President Joe Biden was scheduled to reveal the death. It occurred just eleven months after American forces departed the nation after a twenty-year conflict. Al-death Zawahri removes the one who formed al-Qaida more than anybody else.

Since 1998, he served as Osama bin Laden’s deputy and eventually as his successor. Together, he and bin Laden aimed the weapons of the jihadi cause toward the United States. Before the previous two months, planning for the operation had been underway for six months. Military authorities warn that the organization still intends to target the United States. Al-Zawahri was on the FBI’s list of Terrorists Most Wanted.

There was a $25 million reward for information that may be utilized to kill or capture him. Vice President Biden intended to deliver a speech from the White House Blue Room’s balcony. Al-Zawahri attempted unsuccessfully to co-opt the wave of Arab protests that swept the region. He was a cantankerous and pedantic person who engaged in doctrinal battles with Islamist detractors. Even senior people in the core leadership of al-Qaida were repelled by him.

Some radicals perceived him to be an obnoxious interloper. Ayman al-Zawahri, the head of al-Qaida, was killed in an airstrike, according to the Taliban government of Afghanistan. In April, a video showed him alive for the first time in months. In May 2016, Vice President Joe Biden said that the United States would continue to battle terrorism without foot troops. “We don’t even need to wage a ground battle,” he declared.
