The training of Ukrainian troops at Fort Sill is not anticipated to be impacted by the stoppage.
Army Major General Kenneth Kamper has been relieved of his duties as U.S. Army Fires Center of Excellence at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, in the wake of an investigation by the Army Inspector General’s Office, according to a service spokeswoman on Friday. Cynthia Smith told Task & Purpose that none of the allegations under investigation involve claims of sexual misconduct. Both the investigation and the new leadership will have no bearing on Fort Sill’s operations or mission, including the ongoing training of Ukrainian forces on the Patriot missile system, according to Smith on Friday. The suspension was also unrelated to the mission or the Ukrainian soldiers’ training.
