Army Ranger charged in Tacoma security guard’s death | Military Times

Pierce County, WA prosecutors have charged 26-year-old Spc. Patrick Byrne with two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree burglary and two counts of first-degree kidnapping in connection to a woman found dead in the building she was a security guard at in downtown Tacoma. Byrne is assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment. According to court documents he left a bar after a fight and headed in the direction of the building where the woman worked. She initially refused entry, but after he gained access he began violently beating her to death.
