The 97-year-old Army veteran Pfc. Reid Clanton, who distinguished himself in action during World War II has finally received the Bronze Star Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and other decorations. Reid Clanton served almost 250 days in action in France, Belgium, and Germany, including over 90 days in direct combat in France. According to an Army press release, Clanton never got the honors because of an “administrative mistake.” Clanton fought with a group of troops in the Ardennes Forest during the “Battle of the Bulge.”
Despite bullets flying over his head, he demolished an artillery emplacement. Clanton: Conflict is horrible. We must work to avert World War III. It is not the proper action.
