Even after AT&T and Verizon cut back the installation of high-speed wireless service that might tamper with airplane equipment that calculates elevation, some flights to and from the United States were canceled on Wednesday. After advisories from the Federal Aviation Administration and Boeing, international carriers that depend largely on the wide-body Boeing 777 and other Boeing aircraft postponed early flights or moved to alternate aircraft. Airlines for America, a trade organization for the sector, said cancellations were not as terrible as expected because AT&T and Verizon committed to temporarily block 5G implementation near lots of airports while companies and the government figure out a longer-term solution.
