Afghanistan’s air force is a rare U.S.-backed success story. It may soon fail | Bakersfield

According to the local press, the Taliban military has overcome government soldiers to control at least 23 districts since May 1, the initial timetable for the US pullout. This progress has also prevented Afghan security forces access to highways, requiring all logistical support for the thousands of army and police outposts and checkpoints to be provided by air, including ammo and food resupplies, medical evacuations, and personnel rotation.
