Concerns regarding border security under the Biden administration have been raised after an individual on the FBI’s terror blacklist was apprehended after sneaking across the border into the San Diego region.

An Afghan national who was on the FBI’s terror watchlist was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents after illegally crossing the border into the San Diego area. The arrest occurred on May 10th, and San Diego County Supervisor Jim Desmond’s office released a statement confirming the incident. Border Patrol officials were in contact with Desmond’s office regarding the arrest. The FBI declined to provide specific details when approached by ABC 10News, stating their commitment to detecting and assessing potential threats and collaborating with law enforcement partners. Congressman Darrell Issa tweeted about the incident, emphasizing the Biden administration’s failure in securing the border and suggesting that dangerous terrorists may have taken advantage of the open border policy. Desmond and Issa criticized the Biden administration’s approach to border security, calling for a course correction. The story is still developing, and ABC 10News is actively gathering more information on the arrest.
