On April 14, 2019, Robinett, a Green Beret who served this country for 11 years and was a veteran of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, died in a Choctawhatchee Bay watercraft accident. Friends, community residents, and a contingent of 7th Group soldiers gathered to pay their respects at a memorial plaque erected with community funds.
