Catherine Perez, a vegan nutritionist, claims that a variety of elements affect how your body assimilates food.
According to her, “some plant-based foods have varying absorbability rates, and those might change, depending on how you handle those foods and even what you might be eating those foods with,” notably for vegans and vegetarians. Fortunately, there are some nutrients that, when combined, can improve your body’s ability to absorb them. Perez advises having the following items concurrently.
- Pair iron with vitamin C
- Incorporate zinc in your diet with sulfur
- Eat your antioxidants with fats and fat-soluble vitamins
- Have your calcium with vitamin D
