The L42A1: A Sniper Rifle To Remember | The American Rifleman

Must Read

The L42A1 is a 7.62x51mm NATO sniper rifle based on the WWII era .303 British Lee Enfield No. 4. The No. 4(T) was Britain’s main sniper during the second world war, and it consisted of hand-picked No. 4 service rifles with No. 32 telescopic sights attached. The conversion of a No. 4(T) to an L42AI  was not a simple process. New parts and modifications were required, the L42A1 was less fashionable than competitors but users were attracted to the reliability of the system.
