There are complaints that the UK’s Special Boat Service water facilities in Poole, England is not large enough to conduct realistic training. Although they routinely train in the English Channel, weather does not always permit all the training required. Conservative Richard Drax said the Poole facility is rarely used because SBS members require deeper and larger pools to practice any of their vehicle techniques. Defense Procurement Minister, Jeremy Quin said it was the responsibility of the UK’s Strategic Command to prioritize its budget and if accommodations were not meant it was because there were items even more important to SOF.
