First batch of special forces vehicles reaches Bulgaria | Shepard Media

Must Read

Bulgaria acquired the first 45 new armored cars for the SOF in December 2021, out of a total of 98 on order. Samel 90 anticipates completing the project by the end of 2022, a year ahead of schedule. The SAMARM joint venture between Bulgarian company Samel 90 and UAE-based International Armored Group produces the armored tactical vehicles. According to Bulgarian SOF head Maj Gen Yavor Mateev, the best-protected weapons would be utilized for counter-terrorism operations or ‘direct action,’ while the lighter-armored vehicles will be employed for jobs requiring more maneuverability.
