A shadowy drone force keeps attacking US troops | Task & Purpose

Must Read

Drone attacks on American troops in Iraq have already occurred three times this year. While all of these attempts were unsuccessful, they demonstrate that drones are becoming a greater threat to American service personnel, and the threat is not going away anytime soon. A drone was shot down near Ain al-Asad Air Base in western Iraq on January 6. On January 4, two more drones were shot down near the camp. While the source of the latest drone assaults is unknown, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby recently told reporters that “these types of operations are very much in line with the type of threats we’ve seen from Iran-backed militias in Iraq and Syria.”
