U.S. Designates Three IS-K Leaders In Afghanistan As Global Terrorists | Radio Free Europe Radio Liberty

According to the US State Department, three officials of the Islamic State’s (IS) affiliate in Afghanistan have been identified as global terrorists. The three members of the Islamic State-Khorasan Province (IS-K) organization were categorized as Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGT) by the State Department on November 22. The US Treasury Department has also sanctioned another guy for giving financial aid to IS-K in Afghanistan, according to the report.

Sanaullah Ghafari, also known as Shahab al-Muhajir, has been named as IS-“current K’s overall emir.” According to the statement, he was designated by IS to manage IS-K in June 2020 and is in charge of authorizing all IS-K operations in Afghanistan as well as arranging money for activities.
