U.S. Special Operations Commander Visits Hungary | USSOCOM

Gen. Richard D. Clarke, Commander of USSOCOM, and Maj. Gen. David Tabor Commander of SOCEUR paid a visit to Hungary as a part of routine circulation through central Europe.

Clarke convened with U.S. Embassy in Budapest leadership and gave a speech at the Hungarian Ministry of Defense-led Resiliency Conference.

2021 marks the hundredth anniversary of diplomatic relations between Hungary and the United States. Although the Hungary joined the Axis in 1940, they, along with Poland and the Czech Republic, entered NATO in 1999.

Hungary and the United States signed a Defense Cooperation Agreement in 2019 that modernized our previous status of forces agreement that reflected our current realities.
