There now exists support groups for those who wish to end their “addiction” to video games. Cam Adair is a 32 year old Canadian and the founder of Game Quitters, a support group now 75,000 strong. He says the pandemic only accelerated the problem for many people who had newfound time on their hands. The US National Library of Medicine now classifies gaming dependency under a wider internet addiction umbrella. Products that help parents or users manage their screen time more effectively are becoming increasingly popular as people of all ages struggle with gaming, gambling, or social media fixations.
