Colombia has captured one of the world’s most wanted drug lords, Dairo Antonio Úsuga | NPR Illinois

Colombian President Iván Duque likened the arrest of warlord and drug trafficker Dairo Antonio Usuga, “Otoniel,” to the capture of Pablo Escobar decades earlier. Colombian security forces captured the head of the infamous Gulf Clan last Friday. The Gulf Clan has utilized their small army of personnel to control the country’s cocaine trade. Otoniel has been on the DEA’s most wanted list for some time. He has faced prosecution in New York and Florida for a variety of trafficking charges and the funding of paramilitary organizations deemed off limits by the US.
