The Army’s “unconventional warfare” specialty squad has inked an £8 million-plus deal to supply new data sources to support its operations. The UK’s 6th Division’s mission, according to a newly released acquisition paper, is to watch and evaluate the information environment in which it works, as well as to orchestrate intelligence, data, and partner activities and undertake cyber and electronic warfare activities.  The contract was negotiated with Netcompany, a Danish IT business, to meet an immediate demand to rapidly obtain operationally important data sets using a commercial partner with extensive experience and knowledge to the conventional data sector for use on military data exploitation platforms.
