US Consumer Prices Surge Higher Than Expected, Hit 13-Year High | Entrepreneur

According to fresh statistics, commodity prices grew more than predicted in September as food and energy expenses increased. The annual inflation rate surged to a 13-year high of 5.4 percent in September, according to the latest Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) statistics, exceeding the consensus expectation of 5.3 percent. The consumer price index (CPI) increased by 0.4 % month over month, slightly more than the market projection of 0.3 percent.
