Army Identifies Green Beret Who Died During Dive Training in Reservoir | Military.com

Staff Sgt. Paul Lincoln Olmstead was 29 years old when he passed away during an underwater training exercise last Tuesday at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. The training event was taking place in the murky waters of Campbell’s Joe Swing Park Reservoir. Olmstead was Utah National Guard Green Beret who had been taking part in the Maritime Assessment Course which consists of multiple swimming and breath holding examinations. Olmstead served with in Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 19th Special Forces Group, he is the second Green Beret to perish during a water training exercise this year.
