Green Beret dies during water training at Fort Campbell | Army Times

A National Guardsman assigned to the 19th Special Forces Group did not resurface after submerging during an underwater training event held at Fort Campbell’s Joe Swing Park Reservoir near the Kentucky-Tennessee border. A search party formed immediately comprised of military and local emergency personnel and the Tennessee Wildlife Resource Agency. The soldier’s remains were recovered the following the morning and the event remains under investigation. Sgt. Micah Walker was the member of the 10th Special Forces Group who passed earlier this July during a water treading exercise at the Army’s Special Forces Underwater Operations School on Naval Air Base in Key West.
