The terrorist assaults on September 11, 2001, claimed the lives of 2,996 Americans. Parents, siblings, children ––each victim left behind heartbroken members of the family, colleagues, and a nation in shambles. Although it has been 20 years since 9/11, the memory and effects of that tragic event continues to change and affect people today. Following our recent withdrawal from Afghanistan and the horrific loss of 13 American service personnel, such memories have only grown stronger.
