A moment of silence was held at 8:46 a.m. at the Special Operations Memorial on MacDill Air Force Base on Saturday to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11. General Marcus Evans both spoke during an event honoring the heroic actions of the special operations community on 9/11 and in the ensuing years. “Nearly every major operation in Afghanistan has involved special operations formations under some of the most challenging conditions in the history of warfare,” said Evans.
