The Olympic Shooting competitions have concluded in Tokyo. American shooters earned 6 medals over the 15 events. Olympic Shooting events include stationary target rifle shooting in 3 distinct positions, rapid fire pistol shooting, air rifle shooting, and a mix of trap and skeet shooting. On the final day, both Switzerland’s Nina Christen and China’s Changhong Zhang scored Olympic Records in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions. American Kayle Browning of Conway, Arkansas won silver in Women’s Trap and the team of Madelynn Ann Bernau and Brian Burrows took home bronze in Mixed Trap. China’s shooters fared well in Tokyo coming away from the games with the most total medals and most gold medals in shooting events of any country.
