Afghanistan: Taliban continue attacks on three major cities | BBC News

The Afghan cities of Herat, Lashkar Gah and Kandahar were all under Taliban attack this past Sunday as the fundamentalist Islamist militia continues to gain territory as Western forces withdraw. Over half the country including the borders with Iran and Pakistan is thought to be under Taliban control although the capital of Kabul remains out of their reach. The conflict is going to get much worse according to those currently fighting it and the lack of Western forces is contributing to an overall lack of morale for fighting the Taliban.
