What we know about the Army Ranger accused of a brutal murder in Washington | Task & Purpose

According to US Army Special Operations Command, the officer charged with murdering security personnel during a brutal attack this month in Tacoma, Washington, had been an Army Ranger for about a year and had recently come back from Afghanistan. According to public documents, Spc. Patrick Byrne has been charged with two charges of murder, two acts of kidnapping, and one offense of burglary. He is presently being detained in the Pierce County jail in lieu of a $2 million bond. According to USASOC spokeswoman Bonita Riddley, he is now deployed to the 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington.
