The United Kingdom and the United States have addressed the sustainability of the British Army’s new Ranger Regiment. On a trip to the United States, Defense Secretary Ben Wallace and Chief of the General Staff General Sir Mark Carleton-Smith visited Fort Bragg, home of the Special Operations. The new Army unit will be similar to the American Green Berets and will be part of a new special operations division, performing tasks normally performed by Special Forces. The British Army has remained in the region, participating in operations in Mali and signing peace agreements with Kenya and Somalia.
