Military drones are transforming war — we need a doctrine to use them right | The Hill

The simple reality that drones of multiple kinds are converting the battleground and posing complex pressure for nations that strive to integrate them. Despite the fact that these problems are not new, the most military has yet to develop a drone doctrine that applies to all of their services. It’s unknown what part drones will have as military strategies evolve; no two great powers have ever gone to war with each other. Drones are utilized by both sides in some wars, but the functions are asymmetric. Most countries are currently on the hunt for a drone doctrine, similar to the hunt for the best way to employ armor, whether en masse or scattered among units.
