Navy won’t investigate Eddie Gallagher’s podcast comments about Islamic State detainee’s death | Navy Times

The Navy has stated that it would take no further steps against former Chief Special Warfare Operator Eddie Gallagher over statements he made previously on a podcast about the medical care of an Islamic State captive who passed in 2017. Gallagher was convicted of murder for the militant’s killing in 2018. After hearing from another SEAL team member, who said that he had actually murdered the wounded fighter by obstructing a breathing tube and choking him, Gallagher was eventually cleared of fatally stabbing the 17-year-old.
