Part of a broader Pentagon effort for “enhanced human performance,” Special Operations Command intends to enter clinical trials of a tablet that may prevent or lessen some of the degenerative effects of age and injuries next year. According to Lisa Sanders, head of science and technology for Special Operations Forces acquisition, technology, and logistics (SOF AT&L), the pill “has the ability, if it is effective, to genuinely postpone aging, truly delay the beginning of injury — which is just unbelievably groundbreaking.” SOCOM is collaborating on the drug’s research with private biotech lab Metro International Biotech, LLC (MetroBiotech) utilizing Other Transaction Authority (OTA) funding, he stated. The tablet is predicated on a “human performance small molecule.”
