This Fort Carson soldier could be the next Miss America | Task & Purpose

Maura Spence Carroll isn’t your typical soldier. According to an Army press statement, Spence Caroll, who has competed in beauty contests for years, will compete in the 2022 Miss America pageant after being elected Miss Colorado earlier this month. Spence, from Katy, Texas, is an intelligence officer in the 4th Infantry Division’s 23rd Infantry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat Team. She will be Colorado’s first active-duty soldier to compete in the Miss America competition.
