African Lion: National Guard supports continent’s largest military exercise | US Army

Around 1,000 National Guard members took part in the multi-national, multi-domain training event, including 253 from the Utah National Guard, Morocco’s ally in the Department of Defense National Guard State Partnership Program, as well as two Georgia National Guard battalions. African Lion displays partner forces’ credibility, responsiveness, and commitment to North African regional security. Twenty states send foreign analysts in addition to the participating partners. Command and control, maritime, air, medical preparedness drills, disaster relief, and joint forcible entrance are included in the training events.
