Army may go back to job-specific scoring after all on the new fitness test | Military.com

According to the service’s top general, the Army is thinking of going back to job-specific rating bands for the new Army Combat Fitness Test. Army Chief of Staff Gen. James McConville and Army Secretary Christine Wormuth informed the Senate Armed Services Committee that the test is still being tweaked to balance the need for a stronger army with attempts to fill less physically challenging roles that are important to warfare. There will be no final judgments on the new physical test, including its requirements, until the end of the year, when independent research on it is done.
