A Kentucky Air National Guard special operations airman was given the Airman’s Medal for selflessly jeopardizing his safety to save others while reacting to Louisville’s automobile incident on November 16, 2018. Brig. Gen. Hal Lamberton, adjutant general of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, presented the medal to Keller in front of more than 100 acquaintances, family, and workmates at the Kentucky Air National Guard Base. Keller, a combat controller with the 123rd Special Tactics Squadron, acted quickly and collected civilian assistance to block cross vehicles and devising a plan to rescue a driver trapped in a burning vehicle.
