Man sent to federal prison over theft of government property from Fort Bragg | Fayetteville Observer

A retired purchasing agent from Fort Bragg was sentenced to federal prison on Wednesday for directing government connections to specific companies in return for donations and presents for himself and his spouse. Morris Cooper pleaded no contest to stealing government property and conspiring to steal on September 14th. Morris Cooper was convicted to 17 months in prison in federal court in New Bern on Wednesday. Cooper worked as a purchasing agent for the Directorate of Public Work on Fort Bragg, according to a media release from the US Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
