Gun sales decrease, ammunition reappearing in stores | American Rifleman

According to an estimate from Small Arms Analytics & Forecasting, firearm transactions in May totaled around 1.4 million, based on the number of FBI NICS checks done for a transfer (SAAF). Compared to the same month in 2020, the number shows a 0.3 million decrease in purchasing. Most analysts are not surprised by this. Over the same time frame, a record number of people became first-time gun owners due to the COVID-19 epidemic, urban unrest, and renewed interest in personal protection.
