In early January, two Marine security guards were assigned at the US Embassy in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Marine Sgt. Carey De Freitas and Sgt. Justin Searcy was off-duty visiting the nation when terror in the water prompted them to act. A 10-year-old kid went missing after a close boat sank, and a local man pulled the boy out of the water after ten minutes. De Freitas responded by doing CPR, and after 10 minutes, he was able to obtain a faint pulse. “I needed to make sure this kid survived,” he stated.
